How’s This for Irony?

Monday, July 28th, 2003

whoops!

a group of puerto ricans protested a U.S. naval base in puerto rico a few years ago, telling them they should leave. so, they did just that (taking many jobs with them when they left). now the puerto ricans are protesting the loss of jobs.

be careful what you wish for, sparky!

Weekend Update

Sunday, July 20th, 2003

ah, what a nice weekend. i worked friday night, but had the rest of the weekend off for the first time in many moons. after work friday i went to a pseudo-shindig @ marc’s apt. and saw a couple of kids i haven’t seen in forever. had a good ol’ fashioned time there, came home and actually slept in for a change.

saturday, i swam, finally officially got rid of my farmer’s tan (oh yes!), did some GD work for a band, and went bowling, cosmic style con Carla, Tom and Meron. very good times indeed. forgot how bad i suck at bowling though. got home around 3, talked on the phone till … 7amish … and then slept till maybe 11 or so.

today i took my parents out to eat for their birthday, as my mom’s is today and my dad’s is tomorrow. figured i’d do the 1-2 punch with that. so i had a nice, home cooked meal @ Brookwood Grill. after that, you guessed it, i came home and swam some more. today was the most uneventful day other than that, but it was just what i was looking forward to. i’ll go to bed early tonight and wake up a happy camper tomorrow for work. yep.

to recap, i had a really good weekend.
