a mighty wind came out tues­day of last week, and i finally got it yes­ter­day. what a truly great movie. christo­pher guest and his gang are so great at their brand of subtle, off­beat improv-​style comedy. this latest offer­ing doesn’t disappoint.

of all of Guest’s mock­u­men­taries, this one is the least satir­i­cal, but easily as funny as spinal tap, best in show, or guff­man. the char­ac­ters are a bit more … believ­able in this movie that ones in the past, but every bit as funny. you have to love how these char­ac­ters all matter-of-factly reveal some of the most insane char­ac­ter flaws to the camera.

any­ways, i really rec­om­mend Christo­pher Guest fans get the DVD - it’s got a ton of great deleted scenes and extra fea­tures, etc.
