All Cynicism Aside…

June 28th, 2004

..it’s nice to see the early handover of power to the new interim Iraqi gov’t. good for them, and good for us on keeping our promise. let’s hope all parties involved can get the security problems under control, and maybe … just maybe… this will stem some attacks in the future (doubt it though).

  2. i was reading Boortz’s site tonite and he made an interesting point….we went into iraq, won major fighting in 2 months, captured saddam, killed his murderous sons, and restored power to the people in a year and a half. all this was done with losing fewer than 1,000 casualties. thats a hell of an accomplishment. we’re at the point now where iraq has power on its own and we’re doing nothing more than aiding a successful setup. whether you like bush or not, he has so far done just about everything he said he was going to do.

  3. This is all very good. I have high hopes that things will keep progressing in the direction of Iraq governing itself. I know it won’t be something immediate. But if Bush can pull that off before the election, at least the general sense that Iraq is becoming self-governed, then I think Kerry will have a tough time beating him.
