This morn­ing, before I headed off to class, I plugged in my 40gb iPod into the speak­ers in my room and pressed play (this was 8:20am or so). Upon arriv­ing back from class at noon, I decided to eat lunch and gen­er­ally lounge around the apart­ment. Finally, I made my way back into my bed­room, and noticed that my iPod was still play­ing. Already a good 5 hours into con­tin­u­ous play­back, I thought to myself, “let’s see how long this sucker can go.”

The adver­tised bat­tery life on these new models is 12 hours (with no EQ, sound check, back­light, etc.) To my sur­prise, I’m sit­ting here at 9:45pm, and the iPod JUST died. 13.5 hours straight - that is simply amaz­ing. I just wanted to post this as a tes­ta­ment to those who say the iPod’s bat­tery life is sub-​par. I love this little guy.
