Grammatical Error

Mr. “automatica” Grammatica has cost the Bucs another game - that’s the 3rd this season. 3 missed FGs yesterday alone was the difference in a 21-14 loss to the Panthers. Martin is now 11-19 on the season, and will hopefully be cut very soon, as he’s kept the Bucs from being a decent team in the playoff hunt. Now, they’re 4-7, and will basically have to win their last 5 games to get into the playoffs.

On a positive note, all of the teams ahead of TB in the wild card race also lost, so there IS hope - I just doubt TB could win 5 straight. Even if they DID make the playoffs, they’d get crushed in the first round. This team has a lot of great players, but they’re still short in a few areas, and hopefully next year will go much better for them. The first step, however, should be to cut ties with “automatica” as soon as possible. Rumor has it he won’t be kicking this Sunday.

Happy Thanksgiving! Be sure to gobble up a ton of great food today if you have the chance.

Purple America

A very cool look at who voted for who. I guess it’s a bit more comprehensive than calling places “red states” or “blue states” Things aren’t that black and white, no matter how much either side tries to make it out to be. Clicking the photo brings up a much larger version.

Thanksgiving

Wednesday, November 17th, 2004

One week till thanksgiving. I can’t wait to go home for a few days, just to relax and get away from school. Hopefully, I’ll be able to see some of my friends in the Atlantaland area while I’m up there, but I’ll only be in town for 4 days, so we’ll see what happens. The highs are supposed to be in the high 50s and the lows in the mid 30s, so it won’t be too cold when I get up there, although it’s 85 here every day, with a low around 72 or so. It’s gonna be nice to get to wear a jacket!

I’ll say this though - I LOVE this weather. I can’t live anywhere cold anymore. My goal now is to live in FL or Southern California after this year in school.

Speaking of school, I’ve seriously never been more consumed with one thing in my life. I have the weekends off, but I still find myself devoting a good portion of that time to working on getting projects completed. It’s sad, because my social life has definitely suffered because of this. I feel like the few friends that I do have down here are being ignored at the expense of my studies. However, fortunately most of them are also Full Sail students, so they understand what’s going on. It’s the people that don’t go here that are the ones I feel badly about. I feel like I’m stringing these people along, because I’d love to spend time with them, but I cannot FIND the time to do so. Hopefully I’ll get into some sort of rhythm soon where I can make time for people, and not JUST school. I love being busy, I just don’t like blowing people off because of it.

I’ll post my CD-ROM interface I’m working on when I complete it this weekend - I really like the way it’s turning out so far.

Happy Day!

Thursday, November 11th, 2004

Today was a great day for a lot of reasons - but the main cause of my current state of euphoria is the fact that I stumbled across something I had given up on long ago.

Today, when cleaning out my closet, I found The Aeroplane Flies High, a wonderful boxed set of music from the Smashing Pumpkins. May not seem like much, but this was one of my favorite collections of music when I was younger. It was basically B-sides from Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, but was a 5 disc set.

I know what’s going to be on my iPod for the next week. I still am so sad that Billy Corgan’s antics led to the demise of what I think was one of the great rock bands of our generation. Although, I can handle the fact that I have 9 albums (if you count Zwan) from him to show for it.
