Grammatical Error

Mr. “automatica” Grammatica has cost the Bucs another game - that’s the 3rd this season. 3 missed FGs yesterday alone was the difference in a 21-14 loss to the Panthers. Martin is now 11-19 on the season, and will hopefully be cut very soon, as he’s kept the Bucs from being a decent team in the playoff hunt. Now, they’re 4-7, and will basically have to win their last 5 games to get into the playoffs.
On a positive note, all of the teams ahead of TB in the wild card race also lost, so there IS hope - I just doubt TB could win 5 straight. Even if they DID make the playoffs, they’d get crushed in the first round. This team has a lot of great players, but they’re still short in a few areas, and hopefully next year will go much better for them. The first step, however, should be to cut ties with “automatica” as soon as possible. Rumor has it he won’t be kicking this Sunday.

is there any money involved in this fantasy football?

Indeed there is, if you join the right league.
If you really don’t know what it is:
Fantasy football is basically a “draft” where each person (usually anywhere from 10-20 people) choose a player to be on their team. You usually get a QB, a few RBs, some WRs, kickers, defenses, etc. Each person is rewarded for statistics their players put up.
For instance, if I had Peyton Manning on my team, I’d be doing really well because he seems to throw 10 TDs every week. Whoever has the most points at the end of the season, wins.
Additionally, there are “head to head” leagues, where every week you play a different team, and you can win or lose these games based on your players performances as well.
It’s something to do, and it makes you a much more informed NFL fan.

Eh … I’ve been waiting for that goofy bastard to hit the road for some time now. He signed a huge contract in 2000, and was vastly overpaid for what he was (or wasn’t depending on how you look at it) doing.
If I recall correctly, he was due around 1.5 million. A lot of that will actually come due today (as a prorated salary cap hit), but thems the breaks.
