Google, Webloggers Team Up to Fight Spam
January 19th, 2005
In an effort to curb comment spam, MSN, Yahoo, Google, etc have teamed up to deal with the way their page rank systems work. Now, all tags marked as rel=”nofollow” will not be counted, and therefore hopefully spammers will come up with new ways to pollute the web. Honestly, I’m skeptical and hopeful at the same time. Comment spam can be a real pain, and it clogs up the entire MT application. Let’s hope this is a step in the right direction.
I recommend everyone go here and download the plugin for Movable Type.
Apparently, it’s standards-compliant as well, which was my main concern.
