Out of Gas

nogas

I can officially say that I’ve lost all motivation here at Full Sail. I don’t think I can pinpoint one exact trigger for this, as I feel it’s a combination of many factors. The weather is so damn nice, all I want to do is go to the beach every day. It makes it hard for me to sit down on the weekends and hammer out any work. But really, I think it boils down to the fact that both of the classes I’m in right now are so insanely uninteresting to me that I just can’t get motivated to sit down and make time for the work. Compound that with the fact that I’ve been in school for a solid 20 years of my life, and you’ve got a recipe for laziness.

On Florida, Broken a/C Units, and Other Ways to Lose 10lbs….

Monday, May 23rd, 2005

It was really nice to be home for a few days and see some of my friends - I even got to catch up with someone I haven’t seen in a LONG time, and it really made the entire trip worthwhile by itself. The trip back was pretty nice, and when I got back to Orlando, I was really looking forward to cooling down in my apt, and generally unwinding before starting back to school this week.

My A/C unit is on the fritz … again. It *runs* technically - cool air does come out of the vents, however, it’s not cold, it’s cool. By my estimation, the coldest this place has gotten is 75 or 80 at night, and close to 90 during the day. We’ve filed numerous complaints to the apt complex, and every time they come to check it out, we get the same tired reply about how cold air seems to be coming out, and “it’s Florida - it can only get so cool, ya know.” (ironically, the leasing office is a crisp 60 degrees at all times)

They’re supposed to come by tomorrow morning and fix whatever’s wrong - I highly doubt anything will come out of it, though. Might I add that it is so hot right now that the CPU fan for my G5 (which never runs unless I’m doing some insane video compression or something along those lines) has been running non-stop for at least 2 hours. I’m going to put my Mac to sleep in a few just so I can let the poor guy rest.

Anywho, let’s hope they do something - it’s supposed to be in the mid 90s all week here. No A/C would be a bad thing…

…..4 months till I can live in a real apartment complex……

Atlanta

News flash!!!!!

I’ll be heading up to Atlanta Thursday afternoon (5/21) and plan on being in town until Sunday around noon. If anyone wants to catch some lunch Friday afternoon, or perhaps arrange a bowling session Saturday night, by all means let’s get the ball rolling, so to speak.

Gimme a call, shoot me an email, etc. I’m looking forward to seeing family and friends for a few days and getting away from school and such.

postsecret

i wanted to share a link to one of my favorite sites today - it’s fairly popular these days, but I shall share nonetheless.

Post Secret is a brilliantly conceived site, with the premise being readers mail in a postcard with their deepest, darkest secret anonymously to the caretaker of this blog. Every week or so, a new batch is posted. I can’t put into words how I feel when I read some of these fears, doubts, and secrets people share on this site. After looking at all the photos and reading the comments, you leave a bit changed. At least I do. Check it out!

Version 3. Something…

Saturday, May 7th, 2005

Well, I felt like it was time to spruce up my site a bit. I’m not ready to go and totally redesign things yet, as I simply don’t have the time. However, I felt a few changes to the layout couldn’t hurt, either. I spent a couple of hours this weekend tweaking the layout of the main page and a bit less working on the secondary ones. I hope you like what you see.

I made a few changes/additions/subtractions, however. First, out went the ‘topten’ section, extended entries on the main page, a monthly category listing, and the photos section. In comes ‘whatami’, a slight variation, listing the book, dvd, tv show, and cd I’m listening to in a given month. i’ll write a fairly brief review of each item on this page. also, in comes the photoblog - I’ll be updating this weekly with a photo I’ve taken either recently (preferred) or something a bit older. I’m a sucker for nature shots, but I’ll try to mix it up a bit.

Although this was a fairly minor change, I expect a few visual quirks to pop up. If you see something that seems strange, please drop me an email (via the soon to be updated ‘about’ section). Hope you enjoy the slightly new look!

Thoughts? Comments? Bueller?
