  1. As if the huge laundry basket of beer wasn’t enough, check out the looter’s back pocket.

  2. Everybody knows that white people don’t commit crimes.

  3. Looks like the Saints are going to have to postpone their first game under their new retractable roof.

  4. Daniel Andrews says:

I heard that the Saints were either going to play in Houston, Baton Rouge, or Orlando. All have offered their stadiums for their use.

  5. Disgusting. Anyone would do what they had to do to eat and survive in situations like that, but a simple twist on the words makes it completely racist.

And here I thought we were in the “Information” age. It’s common information that we can’t control our skin color…

  6. Daniel Andrews says:

There is definitely a line between taking bread, water, diapers, etc and taking TVs, electronics, Saints jerseys, tennis shoes and guns.

To me, that’s the difference between surviving and looting. It’s hard to fault someone for doing what it takes to feed their family when all the stores are closed … other than the fact that all those idiots should have evacuated when told to numerous times. Worst case scenario, they should have gone to the dome where they were told to if they could not evacuate the city. Regardless, the National Guard is supposed to be in town tomorrow so the looting will but shut down for the most part.

  7. I cant say that I wouldnt take food or even clothing if I was in that position, but what would I do with a TV? Carry it around until my house is rebuilt and I’ve got a new water damaged TV to watch? That obviously wouldnt be priority #1, but as a certain someone at my work would say, black people are different…

But anyway, all I’m concerned about are gas prices and Brett Favre losing his house, poor poor Brett

There is a huge difference between taking what you want, and what you need. I sympathize for those that are part of all of this, but at the same time, when you live in a community that is 6+ feet below sea level and a hurricane is coming right for you, you obey what the mayor tells you to do - in this case, either leave town or go to a designated shelter. Those that stayed behind were one of two types of people:

    1) trying to either protect their belongings
    2) exploiting the vaccum of power to loot

either one is materialistic in a way. things are just that - things. Take what you can, and get out of there.

  9. Good news…the pipelines are back up and running. For all those idiots that caused panic and spent the better part of their day waiting in lines to buy gas, all I have to say is I hope it was worth it. I waited until this morning to get gas and experienced no lines at all. Good to see the media doing its job by sensationalizing unproven rumors yet again. Thanks AJC.

  10. Does this mean I can stop work on my Hawaiian Punch powered car?

  11. Daniel Andrews says:

Work should never stop on the H.P. hybrid. I’ll be in the market for a new car soon, and I could really make use of such an amazing vehicle.

Rick, the pipelines are up already? That’s good news. My parents were coming down here this weekend for my brother’s graduation and had a hard time finding any gas at all. Even down here most places are out. I think that while people were going nuts over something that may or may not have been true, we are in for a few gas shortages over the near future … and it’s only a preview of what’s to come as more and more people buy trucks and SUVs in our fine country.

Our demand is increasing exponentially but the supply is not.

  12. at least as far as ATL is concerned the pipelines are back running at 50%…..it’s expected to be up to 75% by sometime tomorrow, so this mess is expected to rebound in the near future just as the officials initially said……the chaos yesterday was caused by selfish idiots that heard a rumor…..there was no shortage…people freaking out are the ones that are causing any outages that are occuring

one particular story out of Atlanta involves a man pulling up in a truck and attempting to fill up multiple 55 gallon drums full of gas…and im sure this guy is wondering why theres a “shortage,” while at the same time he’s completely oblivious to the fact that he’s playing a central role in making this rumor come true……i use rumor loosely as im sure there are places along the gulf coast that are genuinely out of gas…”shortage” in atlanta means a small handful of stations that have run out

Well, I should have saved the images … looks like the site is down now.
