I found out today that I have been selected as one of only a few of my fellow stu­dents to present my dig­i­tal port­fo­lio the week of my grad­u­a­tion. I must admit, I’m rather sur­prised that I was selected, but I’m not com­plain­ing. Given some of the projects that I have seen from other mem­bers of my class, to be part of this pre­sen­ta­tion is pretty excit­ing. Basi­cally, our dig­i­tal port­fo­lios are reg­u­lar CDs that you can put into a CD-​ROM drive and it will load up an inter­ac­tive envi­ron­ment that you can then browse through all of the work I have com­pleted while enrolled here. From videos to inter­ac­tive games to web sites, it’s all there to be seen.

Judg­ing by the groups I’ve seen recently at pre­sen­ta­tions, the crowd will be a bit daunt­ing, but I gen­er­ally do fine during things like this. Since it’s not for a grade, and I’ll just be glad to be DONE with school, I doubt I’ll be that ner­vous. Also, the selected mem­bers have to come up with a poster for the pre­sen­ta­tion … the chosen few have dis­cussed a few ideas, so that’s another little project that is creep­ing up on me. Funny thing, I thought this last month was going to be full of video games and sleep. All of a sudden, I have a free­lance project to finish and 3 school projects.

It’s crazy that there are only 2.5 weeks of classes left, and 3.5 weeks until I will be moving back to Atlanta. I’ve said it a hun­dred times, but it’s amaz­ing how fast time has flown down here.

   I’m sure you’ll do fine. I’ve only seen a small sam­pling of your work, but you def­i­nitely have talent, and this proves it. Con­grat­u­la­tions, and we’re look­ing for­ward to having you back in the ATL.

   Thanks man. Yea, I’m excited about just being back in a famil­iar city with people I’ve known for a while. Plus the normal sta­ples like Moes and joes, etc. are beck­on­ing me.

   And, much to Erik’s cha­grin, my apart­ment will be stocked from top to bottom with trendy IKEA fur­ni­ture.
