Five years ago today, the United States invaded Iraq. Since that day:

U.S. Deaths: 3,990
U.S. Casualties: 40,229
Iraqi Deaths: Unknown (estimated between 650,000 to 1 million)
Total Cost: $504,000,000,000.00

What started out as a war to rid the world of an evil dictator with weapons that were ready to strike at any moment has morphed into a war about a another false promise -– we have to stay in Iraq until it is a shining beacon of democracy, or we have failed.

Enough. It’s time to end this war.
